Public Transit

There are many options for public transportation in University City.

  • SEPTA – great for travel within University City and in the Greater Philadelphia area.  The closest subway stop is located at 40th & Market Streets (1 block from The HUB) and is part of the Market-Frankford line.
  • LUCY Shuttle – a loop through University City that is free to employees of University of Pennsylvania, University of Pennsylvania Health System, University City Science Center and VA Medical Center. All others can ride with Trans or TrailPass, transfers, or $2 bus fare. LUCY® has a wheelchair lift and two wheelchair tie-downs per bus.
  • Amtrak at 30th Street Station – regional train system, great for travel throughout the northeast.
  • Megabus and BOLT Bus – bus companies, great for easy travel to major East Coast cities such as New York City, Boston, Baltimore, Washington DC, and more.

Bicycling is a fast and easy way to travel within University City.  Check out this map of Bike Lanes in University City.  There are bike racks for HUB residents located near the Lobby/Leasing Office entrance on the Chestnut Street side of the building.


Metered street parking is available on the surrounding blocks of The HUB.  Please make sure to read curb signage to make sure that you are parking in appropriate areas and that you follow time restrictions.  Penn Parking Services has a helpful interactive map that shows various parking lot and garage locations.  The closest parking garage is located at the corner of 40th & Walnut Street above to Fresh Grocer (1 block from The HUB).
