Your Guide to Center City Restaurant Week

Center City Restaurant Week starts this Sunday, September 30th!  Do you know where you’re going yet?  Center City Restaurant Week runs September 30-October 5 & October 7-12, 2012.  During Restaurant Week, participating restaurants offer three-course dinners for only $35 per person. In addition, many of the participating restaurants will also be offering a three-course lunch for $20.  During Restaurant Week, you can check out new parts of the city and experience some of Philadelphia’s top-rated restaurants on a budget.

Here are some of our suggested restaurants to check out during Center City Restaurant Week:

For a cute BYOB, check out Audrey Claire in Rittenhouse Square featuring Mediterranean and Greek fusion food.

Our choice off of Audrey Claire’s Restaurant Week menu:

First Course - Rosemary Skewered Shrimp with sweet potatoes pineapple basil and watermelon salsa

Second Course - Potato Crusted Ahi Tuna with crispy beets and black truffle vinaigrette

Third Course - Choose from the night’s Homemade Desserts… guess you’ll have to go to find out!

Our lunch pick is Farmicia in Old City.  Trendy yet casual, Farmicia specializes in organic, locally grown produce and meats.

Our choice off of Farmicia’s Restaurant Week menu:

First Course - FARMiCiA Salad of lettuces & garden vegetables, croutons, blue cheese dressing  or  herb vinaigrette

Second Course - Turkey & Avocado Club with toasted sourdough, crisp bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, fries

Third Course - Local Apple, Cherry, & Pear Crisp with toasted pecan brown sugar streusel & vanilla bean ice cream

Tip:  To get to Farmicia via public transit, take the Market-Frankford line eastbound and get off at the 2nd Street stop.  Farmicia is only a short block away at 3rd and Market.

Our last pick is Lolita in Midtown Village.  Featuring contemporary Mexican fare, Lolita is also a BYOB.

Our choice off of Lolita’s Restaurant Week menu:

First Course - gorditas con ropa viejo - oaxaca cheese filled masa cakes, braised bbq shortrib, caramelized onions, charred corn salsa, popcorn shoots

Second Course - pollo relleno - smoked oaxaca cheese stuffed chicken breast, black beans, fried plantains, heirloom tomato salsa

Third Course - mexican pot de crème - dark chocolate pot de crème, spicy ancho peanuts, whipped cream, salted caramel

Tip:  BYOT (Bring your own tequila) - Lolita provides fresh squeezed margarita mixes sold by the pitcher for you to mix with your tequila at your table.
